How Can We Help?

Get the coverage you need, when you need it

We all know how annoying it can be having to come in weekends and stay late every night. No employee wants to do that and no manager wants to ask their team to put off their personal life to come in on off hours. It’s all about the work / life balance. But we also know how difficult it can be to get approvals to bring in another full time employee when the workload to keep them billable might not be consistent. That’s where we can step in and help. We can jump onto projects you might need an extra hand with and when it’s done, we just head out and go back to our other client projects. You get the help you need, without having to worry about paying for the slow times.

WHO WE ARE

We are a storytelling production collective that focuses on what drives the passion of the viewer.  We’ve created film for brands & agencies like Coca-Cola, Nabisco, P&G, McDonald’s, LIDS, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Momentum Worldwide, HAVI, The Marketing Store, & CD One Price Cleaners.

We pride ourselves on being like an extension of your own company.  Not every business can afford to have video services in house, but with us on your side, it’s as if you do. We handle all aspects of filmmaking from preproduction and scripting through production and post. If you already have in house services, we function as an additional resource for a lot of our clients. When the internal team is bogged down, we’re able to seamlessly step in and help get the work done.

OUR WORK

Case Study: Paylocity

I have worked with Cal a bunch of times on various projects over the last 10 years and every one of them has had the audience engaged and complementary of the work he produces, he makes me look good! The best part is Cal gets it, I know I can pick up the phone, sometimes with little notice, and he will come through and produce great work. It is that type of partner, that knows the outcome you are trying to get to and delivers it with quality, on time, and most importantly we have fun doing it.
— VP, User Experience, Paylocity

Building the need and helping along the way

Paylocity is a Human Capital Management company you’ve probably never heard of. But, with nearly a half billion dollars in revenue and a team that doubles in size every few years they had some video needs. And we were there to help them out. At the start, we were the difacto in house video team. We worked with a number of groups within the company to get their story out in the most compelling way both internally and externally. We even produced a documentary short for their 20th anniversary, flying around the country and telling the Paylocity story through over 50 employee’s testimonials.

As their video needs grew, they decided to create an internal video team. That team focusses on educational videos that they sell to their clients through a learning channel. But, as you know, internal teams get bogged down and overworked. So we’re still there to help. Whether we’re taking old learning videos and bringing them up to date or interfacing with Paylocity’s clients to tell their story about how the software works for them, we’re an important part of their team and they know we’re only a phone call away when they get busy.

Case Study: Vein Clinics of America

Whenever I need help with a project the first name that comes to mind is AV Collective. They’re reliable, professional, and produce quality work every time. I’ve hired them on several occasions in the past and they always makes sure I am informed and updated throughout the entire process and their experience in the industry shines through his work. Most recently, I hired AV to edit dozens of videos that feature physicians from our company in front of a green screen. The videos are educational in nature and our physicians, while great at treating patients, are not professional actors. AV was able to tackle this tough challenge, deliver the videos in a timely manner, and the stakeholders on our end were all very happy with finished product. The general consensus was: “Wow, these are amazing! So, this is what ‘movie magic’ means. Top notch work.”
— Senior Producer, Vein Clinics

An extension of the internal team

Vein Clinics of America has an internal video person, but one person isn’t enough to handle all the work they need to do. While they have time to go out and film the doctors they work with and create great content, they don’t always have time to finish that themselves. Imagine coming back from filming 40 doctors and one person having to then edit all that, go through revisions, tweak audio and color, in addition to the regular work you need to get done. It’d mean working 24/7.

That’s where we step in. Vein Clinics is able to reach out to us and know they’re getting an extension of their team. We work long hours so they don’t have to. The best part for us? Their internal stakeholders don’t know the difference. We’re able to help our client look good, while maintaining the same level of final product they’re used to seeing. They look like superman for being able to execute on such a large scale and that’s a win win for everyone.

Our Gear

Our Gear

Some people like to know what production companies are using to create content. Whether that matters or not is up for debate (we can create on anything), but either because they’re gear heads or they can get an idea of what level of production a company can handle based on the equipment they use it can be handy to know. Whether you fall into either camp, we love to talk about gear, so here you go…

Cameras

  • We shoot 4k RAW on the Canon C200

  • We shoot 6k RAW on the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera

  • Those cameras also allow us to shoot a variety of Prores and other formats as well

  • Canon 5d Mark IV

  • Canon 6d Mark II

  • DJI Osmo Pocket, Sony RX100 VII, and many other little cameras for situations where we need to be low key

Lenses & Lighting

  • We have a full lineup of Canon L glass to cover all necessary focal lengths. We’re also very familiar with Cine glass where projects call for it.

  • We use a variety of lighting to create the best image possible, whether it be battery powered 1x1 LED panels or giant softboxes to create a great quality of light

Support

  • Sachtler Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Fluid Head

  • Easyrig Minimax

  • Zhiyun Crane 2

  • Steadicam HD-4000

  • MeFoto Carbon Fiber Tripods

Software

  • We’re experts in the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc) and use it all day, every day

  • For reviewing and comment aggregating we use a great piece of software called Frame.io which allows clients to post time stamped feedback in real time

  • For color we use Davinci Resolve

  • When requested by a client, we can also edit in Final Cut Pro. We used to be Apple Professionally Certified in it before transitioning to Adobe

Hardware

  • We edit on maxed out Mac Pros and Mac Book Pros

  • We keep our online storage on over 150 TB (yes terabytes) of RAID and NAS storage. Your files are always on hand & backed up if you need to revisit them in the future
