HAVI COE Interview Tips
Here are some tips for your COE Interview…
-
Location.
One of the most important things for the recording is your location. It’s important to make sure there’s no light sources (windows, bright light fixtures, etc) behind you in the frame. This will help make sure you’re not too dark. If you can position yourself so there’s a light source (for example a window) behind your computer or to the right or left of your computer, that will help add light to your face.
-
Audio & Video.
The location you choose should also be as quiet as you can get it. Turn off any fans, close doors for other noises in your home, and let everyone around know you’ll be recording. The closer you can sit to the computer, without being too close, the better the audio will sound. When you halve the distance to a microphone, it amplifies the sound 4x. Also, for video, make sure you’re computer is at eye level. If you’re using a laptop camera you may need to prop it up on books or something, but we don’t want to be looking up your nose if you’re sitting higher than the camera.
-
Wardrobe.
Wear what you would wear to a business meeting. No need to get overly dressed up, just something nice. Avoid tight patterns as they can cause issues with cameras. Solid colors work best. If you can avoid jewelry that makes noise (for example bracelets that might clink together) that will help the overall video as well. Some examples of wardrobe for women would be a solid color sweater or blouse, dresses work as well. For men, a polo or button up in a solid color work well.
