Cosley Zoo Anniversary Video

Let us help you tell your story & raise support.

There’s a lot of things on potential donors minds, and wallets, and it’s hard to raise money these days. No matter how worthy the cause, it’s taking a little bit more to show people why they should support what you’re doing. That’s where we can help. The best way to help people buy in and support what you’re doing is through authentic storytelling. Storytelling is one of the best ways to connect with an audience and at the heart of that storytelling are real people who are living and breathing Cosley Zoo. When someone sees the passion these people have for the Zoo, they’ll be inspired to support the people they see telling their stories and they’ll want to be a part of that too.

To accomplish that, we’ll create a 4-5 minute video from a day of interviews we do at the Zoo. Prior to those interviews we’ll work together with you and your team to put together an “ideal story” script. What that is, is a script of what you’d want the people to say if they were just reading lines off a teleprompter. We obviously don’t want them to do that, we want them to tell things in their own words. So we’ll take that ideal story and craft questions that will lead them down that path. When we interview them we’ll help them get to what you’d want the story to be, but also give them the freedom to talk about what inspires them. We’ll take those interviews and edit them together with b-roll we shoot over the next year at 4-5 points you’ve identified. We’ll also use archival or historical photos or content you have to help tell the full story of the Zoo, why it’s important and where it’s going.

We’re experts at working with real people, having them tell authentic stories, and crafting that into a compelling video for your audience. And this project hits close to home as I love Cosley Zoo. I’ve been going there my whole life, picking out pumpkins, looking at animals, and enjoying the grounds and now I take my kids there to do the same. It’s one of our favorite places in Wheaton and I’d love to help support it.

A little about us

It’s important to learn a little bit about who you’re working with before a project starts. We’re not fresh out of college and decided to start doing our own thing. Our founder & Creative Director, Cal Engel has over 20 years experience in the industry. Spanning from traditional marketing agencies to innovation agencies to brands to digital out of home, even working with literally the biggest music acts in the world. Ten years ago he decided to form AV Collective as a way to provide that same high quality work to clients, but without them having to pay the overhead of a traditional agency. Why’s that important for you? Every project is going to have challenges. It’s about the knowledge and expertise of the people you work with, that allows them to overcome those challenges and deliver projects beyond your expectations.

Here’s what a few of our clients have said about us…

“Working with Cal at AV Collective has been a feather in my professional cap. We have created work that changed the way people thought of my company, turning our executives and customers into rock stars. Cal is highly creative; he can put together innovative ideas and concepts independently. Cal is also highly collaborative, so you can bring your ideas (no matter how crazy) with you and he can help bring them to life.”
— Danielle, Sr. Director

“Words do not describe how amazing Cal and the team have been to work with. They have helped our agency out on a lot of last minute projects, which have included editing, VO, music and design. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness for each project they have been engaged on has been incredibly refreshing. They take true pride and ownership in each project.”
— Tracy, Account Director

“From beginning to end, just a world-class experience. I do know that those words get used a lot, world-class, to the point where they don’t mean much but, for me, as someone who has been on countless photo, commercial, and video shoots, knowing every single detail is the difference between a project that moves through ideation to completion smoothly and an experience that is less than ideal for all involved. Working with Cal has been nothing short of spectacular.”
— Chris, VP Digital Marketing
