Our Explainer Videos Win Awards.
Let Us Explain
Lots of companies would benefit from creating video content. The first place, and easiest place, to start is with explainer style videos. So just what is an explainer video? It means different things to different people. For us, it’s a video that tells the story of a product or brand in a fun, engaging way by utilizing moving illustrations and fun storytelling. It’s anchored by a professional voice over as images and graphics tell the story visually. It typically has catchy music and fun copy. It’s more about being lighthearted as your audience learns, than diving into the weeds with lots of technical terms and jargon.
Why an explainer video versus another kind of video?
The reason that an explainer video works is because it’s easy to tell the story and get people, internally, to buy into creating a video. It’s easy because it’s script based. It’s simple to route to the right people, make any changes needed, and get started. It also tends to be less expensive, and have fewer moving parts, than filming something live. There’s no shoot days or talent, no hair or makeup, so it’s simpler to get started. It’s also an easier kind of video to bring personality too. While we love filming real people’s stories, with explainer videos you get to write the copy versus having someone say it, so it can be more expressive.
I like it so far, what’s the process?
-
To get started, you reach out to us and we do a discovery call. We talk about the project, what success looks like for you and what needs to be included. Then we create a proposal for you that outlines the costs, project, timeline, and responsibilities.
-
Once the project kicks off, we usually ask that you send us the bullet points or short outline of what you want to include. We take that and craft a script for you. We’ll write it, send it over and we’ll revise it until it’s perfect. Then the production begins.
-
While we get started, we’ll pull voice over artist demos so you can get the exact voice you want. We’ll use a scratch track and start animating. We’ll need a week or two to put together a first look. When you see it for the first time, it’s not a rough cut, it’s a video that’s pretty far along.
-
Every project has to go through revisions, we know that. We’ll send you the video for you to route to the internal stakeholders and we’ll go back and forth making changes until it’s just right.
-
Once we’re done with revisions, we’ll do a voiceover session. We wait until the end for this so that you can tweak the script to make sure the story is just right. We’ll drop the new VO in, finalize any assets, put in the final music and export as you need. And that’s it… we’re done!
