Gibraltar 50th Anniversary Video

Thanks for letting us come and film!

I know there’s always a lot going on, so first let me say, thank’s for letting us come in and film. This page will take you through the day and let you know a little bit of what to expect. First, everything will be very low pressure. We’re capturing footage that we’re going to put together into a video with a voice over, so we can start and stop as much as needed and we’ll move around and get the shots we need without disrupting much of what’s going on.

We need some people.

So before we arrive, we’ll need your help (or someone from corporate may have already helped with this) getting some people together. First, we’ll need 4 or 5 people for looking at the camera and smiling. We want to highlight some of the employees and have them look right at the camera. If you have people who’ve been there a really long time, we’d love to have them, and then let’s make sure we have some diversity in the people we choose.

We also want to interview 4 or 5 people to talk to them about working at Gibraltar. This is for a future video we may do, not the 50th Anniversary video. From you, we’ll need your best looking (and quietest) conference room reserved for the whole day. And then, helping us wrangle the people. I believe HR is helping get those people together but if you have anyone you think we should add, be sure to let us know.

Everyone who’s recognizable on camera (both in the b-roll and the interviews/looking at the camera) will need to sign a model release. We’ll need someone on the day of that can walk around with us and have people sign them after we film. If you want to see it ahead of time, or want to print them to just have everyone sign them, you can find them HERE.

The B-Roll.

So that fills you in on the people portion, a lot of what we’re doing is capturing b-roll. B-roll is footage that we’ll cut together with the voice over we have to help illustrate what the voice over is talking about. That will be people working, wide shots of the facilities, close ups on hands, etc. We don’t have a set thing we’re out to capture, we want to find what looks cool and interesting. So if you have any thoughts on what to highlight, be sure to let us know. Also, if you have any ESG projects we’d love to capture those as well to highlight them in future projects.

The Day.

So, here’s what the day will look like…

DS Brown - 300 E Cherry St, North Baltimore, OH

Tuesday, August 16

  • 9am - Arrival and Walkthrough - We’ll show up, load up our gear and bring it into the conference room you’ve reserved and then do a quick walk around.

  • 10am - B-Roll - we’ll go out to the floor with the person you’ve designated to help us. We’ll film and they’ll have anyone recognizable sign a release.

  • 11:30am - Employees Looking at Camera - We’ll set up a light in the manufacturing area, and we’ll have you gather the 5 people we’re going to have look at the camera. Each one will only take a few minutes.

  • 12p - Lunch - Let me know if there’s a local spot you recommend we head out to for lunch.

  • 1pm - Interviews with Employees - This is when we’ll sit down and talk to people about what it’s like to work at Gibraltar. It will be informal and low stress.

  • 3pm - Load out - After we interview employees, we’ll pack up and head out.

If you have any questions, let me know!
