Let us help you tell a story.

Storytelling is one of the best ways to connect with an audience. And at the heart of that storytelling are real people. Not actors spitting out pre-written lines, but real people who do real jobs and tell real stories. We’re experts at helping those people tell their stories. We keep things fun and light hearted. We make sure they know we can start and stop as much as they need to. We use a boom mic versus a lav because it makes them feel more comfortable (and IMHO it sounds much better). If they need breaks, we let them take those breaks. There’s no pressure to deliver, it’s all at their own pace.

From a production side, on the day of the shoot we’ll arrive, scout the best location for visuals and sound, and then set up at the location. We’ll light it, get the audio just right and work on the framing. Someone from your team will ask the questions, as you know the talent best, but we’ll jump in and ask additional questions or for them to elaborate on interesting topics. This is helpful for two reasons, first we know what will help the edit, but secondly as an outsider looking in to what you do it can be useful to expand on things you think everyone knows about your business, but maybe they don’t.

A little about us.

It’s important to learn a little bit about who you’re working with before a project starts. We’re not fresh out of college and decided to start doing our own thing. Our founder & Creative Director, Cal Engel has over 20 years experience in the industry. Spanning from traditional marketing agencies to innovation agencies to brands to digital out of home, even working with literally the biggest music acts in the world. Ten years ago he decided to form AV Collective as a way to provide that same high quality work to clients, but without them having to pay the overhead of a traditional agency. Why’s that important for you? Every project is going to have challenges. It’s about the knowledge and expertise of the people you work with, that allows them to overcome those challenges and deliver projects beyond your expectations.
