Packaging Concierge - Explainer Videos
A great way to teach and engage
Explainer videos are a great way to teach and engage consumers and employees. They present information people need to know, in a way where it feels like you’re going on a journey with them not just talking at them. We bring a unique storytelling lens to the explainer / illustrated style videos that we create. Helping share the information but making sure it’s done in with story in mind. For your project, we’ll take your script and find stock assets on a site like iStock where we find a good balance of awesome graphics that don’t break the budget. If you need something specific created, we have illustrators who can take that on as well, just let us know. We’ll put together the first look, go through revisions, and then finalize things.
The process
-
During this stage, we’re looking for VO talent and finding assets while you work on the script. You send the script to us and we’ll give some input (which you can take or leave) and then when everything is approved, we start the editing process. This is also the point in the process where we do a Voiceover artist search. We’ll put a request out for demos, get 50-100 back and then choose the best 3 or 4 for you to choose from.
-
We’ll take the stock assets we found and bring them to life. At this point in the stage we’ll have a scratch VO track in there so that we can tweak the script if needed, without additional costs. We’ll find some great music and put that in. We’ll create cool motion graphics and tell your story in the most engaging way. Every project is a little bit different, but in general from the start of editing until you see the first look it’s about a week.
-
We’ll go through 3-5 rounds of revisions (depending on the estimate) where you give your feedback through Frame.io and we make the changes and send you a new version. This makes sure that you’re getting exactly what you want. Revisions are what can add the most time to a project depending on how many stakeholders need to review things, how quickly comments come in, and how complex they are. Typically we tell clients this part will take a week or two.
-
Once we get the video where it needs to be, we finalize it. At this point we’re dropping in the professional voice over, we’re changing any FPO stock to final, we’re buying and putting in the final music, and we’re doing a final audio and color pass. Then we export the video and provide you the final files. This only takes a day or two to do and marks the end of the project.

Our Reel - So I Did
A little about us.
It’s important to learn a little bit about who you’re working with before a project starts. We’re not fresh out of college and decided to start doing our own thing. Our founder & Creative Director, Cal Engel has over 20 years experience in the industry. Spanning from traditional marketing agencies to innovation agencies to brands to digital out of home, even working with literally the biggest music acts in the world. Ten years ago he decided to form AV Collective as a way to provide that same high quality work to clients, but without them having to pay the overhead of a traditional agency. Why’s that important for you? Every project is going to have challenges. It’s about the knowledge and expertise of the people you work with, that allows them to overcome those challenges and deliver projects beyond your expectations.
Our estimate for your project.
We take the time to look at your specific needs and include what we think is necessary to execute the project. Our estimates are very detailed so you can see exactly where your budget for a project is going. If you’d like to add anything or take anything away from the project, reach out and we can get you an adjusted estimate. This estimate includes stock costs, those are part of a subscription which will save the budget money, but means that they can only be used in this project. They’re not royalty free, more like rights managed. We can estimate to actually buying each asset but find the cost of a subscription to be 10-20% of the cost of buying each one.
You had mentioned multiple videos, when they’re all agreed to under one contract we can offer some savings. Typically the way that would work would be… Video 01 and 02 are full price, 03 and 04 are a discount, 05 and on are a bigger discount. But they would all need to be on one contract with the deposit paid up front.
Here’s the estimate, please let me know if you have any questions…
Next steps
So there’s a lot to process in there. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out. If you’re ready to get rolling, let us know and we’ll get a contract and deposit invoice over to you to get the project started. There is always a lot of apprehension around doing video projects as most people haven’t done them before, but we’re here to help you through that process, make it as seamless as possible, and over deliver on the results you’re looking for. Thanks so much for thinking of us and hopefully we can work together soon!
