Red Caffeine & AV Collective

Let us help you tell your story.

Telling your own story is as important as the work you do for your clients, but often times that gets put on the back burner. There’s always a project or deadline coming up that consumes too much of your time to keep pushing forward on what your company needs. That is especially true with video. A lot of times, companies know they need to use video as their main storytelling vehicle, but they’re afraid of what’s involved in getting that done and don’t know where to start. We’re here to help take that off your plate. We’ve done hundreds of videos and know the right steps in the process to get what you need captured, in the most efficient manner possible.

For this project, we’ll help you tell your client’s stories. You know those best, so we’ll have you start with a brief outline of what client would ideally tell us on camera. Then we’ll take that and craft questions that will lead the person down that path but allow them to say it in their own way. We don’t want to tell them “say Red Caffeine boosted our bottom line by X, Y, Z” because that won’t come across as authentic. Instead we’d ask them questions like “Tell us about how you worked with Red Caffeine" “Talk to me about how your results changed before and after engaging with them” or “What surprised you the most about working with Red Caffeine”. These questions would lead to the kinds of answers you’re looking for but in a way that allows the person to say it in their own way.

On the day of the shoots (this will be a 2 day shoot for the project) we’ll arrive and set up in a location in your office. We’ll light it, get the audio just right and work on the framing. Someone from your office will ask the questions, as you know the talent best, but we’ll jump in and ask additional questions or for them to elaborate on interesting topics. This is helpful for two reasons, first we know what will help the edit, but secondly as an outsider looking in to what you do it can be useful to expand on things you think everyone knows about your business, but maybe they don’t.

Then after the shoot we bring the footage back to our office and begin editing. We use the outlines created in pre-production as the guiding story for the pieces, but we add in some of the unexpected insights the clients shared on the day of the shoot. We’ll send you a first look via our online feedback software, you add your comments, and then we’ll go through revisions until we get it just right. Then we export the footage for both archiving and for uploading, and we’re all set.

A little about us.

It’s important to learn a little bit about who you’re working with before a project starts. We’re not fresh out of college and decided to start doing our own thing. Our founder & Creative Director, Cal Engel has over 20 years experience in the industry. Spanning from traditional marketing agencies to innovation agencies to brands to digital out of home, even working with literally the biggest music acts in the world. Ten years ago he decided to form AV Collective as a way to provide that same high quality work to clients, but without them having to pay the overhead of a traditional agency. Why’s that important for you? Every project is going to have challenges. It’s about the knowledge and expertise of the people you work with, that allows them to overcome those challenges and deliver projects beyond your expectations.
