Executive Talking Head Filming

The request and our approach.

On August 26th, we’ll come to the offices and set up a talking head shoot for Russ in a location Joe Kwon selects around the offices.  We’ll match the lighting to existing corporate video content, we will shoot with 2 cameras for variety in the edit and we’ll bring a teleprompter to keep things moving smoothly for the talent.  tms employees will act as PA’s so that we can keep costs lower as this is an internal project for the company.  If you can provide the script a day ahead of time, that makes things much smoother, but we can be flexibile.

Additionally, we will come for a day and film with 8-10 other executives.  On our discovery call, we talked about a lot of different approaches for that.  My suggestion would be on a gray sweep, similar to the example below.  That allows ease of editing and easy replication in the future.  Additionally, we could do it in the same location as the Russ video.  This would give some flexibility to be able to do some on August 26 as well as Russ’ (there wouldn’t be time to do more than a couple of them in a different location if we were doing them same day).  The downside to using the same location as the Russ video is that there’s no real variation in the look, if they’re used in similar projects.  Or as a third option, we can shoot it on a green screen and then you can replace the background with whatever plates you might shoot around the office.  The benefit here is flexibility, the down side is increased post production time and needing to shoot plates.

Following the two shoot days, we’ll hand off the footage for Slate to edit.  Though we included editing costs if you were interested in having us do it.

A little about us

It’s important to learn a little bit about who you’re working with before a project starts. We’re not fresh out of college and decided to start doing our own thing. Our founder & Creative Director, Cal Engel has over 20 years experience in the industry. Spanning from traditional marketing agencies to innovation agencies to brands to digital out of home, even working with literally the biggest music acts in the world. Ten years ago he decided to form AV Collective as a way to provide that same high quality work to clients, but without them having to pay the overhead of a traditional agency. Why’s that important for you? Every project is going to have challenges. It’s about the knowledge and expertise of the people you work with, that allows them to overcome those challenges and deliver projects beyond your expectations.

Here’s what a few of our clients have said about us…

“Working with Cal at AV Collective has been a feather in my professional cap. We have created work that changed the way people thought of my company, turning our executives and customers into rock stars. Cal is highly creative; he can put together innovative ideas and concepts independently. Cal is also highly collaborative, so you can bring your ideas (no matter how crazy) with you and he can help bring them to life.”
— Danielle, Sr. Director

“Words do not describe how amazing Cal and the team have been to work with. They have helped our agency out on a lot of last minute projects, which have included editing, VO, music and design. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness for each project they have been engaged on has been incredibly refreshing. They take true pride and ownership in each project.”
— Tracy, Account Director

“From beginning to end, just a world-class experience. I do know that those words get used a lot, world-class, to the point where they don’t mean much but, for me, as someone who has been on countless photo, commercial, and video shoots, knowing every single detail is the difference between a project that moves through ideation to completion smoothly and an experience that is less than ideal for all involved. Working with Cal has been nothing short of spectacular.”
— Chris, VP Digital Marketing
